Alien Vocoder is a spectral altar disguised as a VST3 plugin. It dismantles the harmonic content of any sound you feed it and rebuilds it on a tunable pitch grid — the same thing a classical analog vocoder does, only weirder, sharper, and far more transparent when you want it to be. Talk into it; sing into it; route a synth, a snare, an entire mix through it. What comes back out is the same sound, possessed.
Inside, a phase-vocoder analysis stage tracks every spectral component of your input frame by frame. A bank of internal sine carriers — locked to a user-defined musical scale — is then modulated by those analysis envelopes, so the input's shape is imposed onto the altar's pitches. From this base architecture grows everything else: warp curves that bend the scale into non-Euclidean intervals, smear that lets each syllable bloom into a drone, an LFO bank with a quantized stair waveform that can modulate four parameters at once, and a built-in pitch-stutter that captures and replays chunks at any frequency from sub-bass to ultrasonic. There is a TRANS knob that doesn't blend dry-and-wet so much as it slowly transmutes the former into the latter.
